    Condiments: Spicy Brown Mustard

    Recipe Introduction

    This particular mustard is similar to the course ground French mustard like Grey Poupon Country French. ok, I know this has corn syrup and brown sugar -- not something I'd use often, but am glad there's a no salt added version since I couldn't find any in the store.

    List of Ingredients

    1/3 c Mustard Seeds
    1/3 c Dry Mustard
    2/3 c Water, Boiling
    1 c Cider Vinegar
    3 T Light Corn Syrup
    2 T Brown Sugar
    1 t Onion Powder
    1/2 t Garlic Powder
    1/2 t Cinnamon
    1/4 t Allspice
    1/8 t Ground Cloves

    Recipe

    In a small bowl combine mustard seed, dry mustard and boiling water. Stir to mix and set aside for 10 minutes. In saucepan combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Place mustard and vinegar mixtures in a blender and process at high speed until seeds are crushed. Place in pint jar and store in refrigerator. Can be used immediately.
