Sauce: Arrabbita Sauce w/ Rice Noodles

1 cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
3/8 cup red wine
1 tablespoon Splenda
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 (14.5 ounce) cans peeled and diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp fennel seeds
1/4 tsp poppy seeds
1/4 tsp liquid smoke

Recipe
1. Heat a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in wine, Splenda, basil, red pepper, fennel, poppy seeds, tomato paste, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, black pepper, liquid smoke and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer uncovered about 15 minutes.
3. Stir in parsley. Ladle over the hot rice noodles.
