Sauce: No Salt Spaghetti Sauce

Recipe Introduction
From member I Teach: This sauce was featured in a no-salt cooking article in my local newspaper. I have used it with rice noodles, baked potatoes, and as a dip for guiltless fries and turkey sausage patties.
List of Ingredients
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 1/2 onions chopped
1 (28 oz) can no salt added crushed tomatoes (I use Dei Fratelli brand)
1 (6 oz) can no salt tomato paste
1/4 cup water
5 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/4 tsp black pepper
3 bay leaves
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
pinch of ground thyme
1 packet Splenda
Recipe
In a large non-stick sauce pan or pot saute the onions and garlic (in water, no sodium broth, or wine) until tender. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Fill empty tomato paste can with water and add to pot. Simmer on medium-low for 1/2 hour.
Add sliced mushrooms, black pepper, bay leaves, oregano, basil, thyme, and Splenda. Simmer 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaves and discard. Serve hot or cold with the protein or carb of your choice.
