5 ripe pears, cored and chopped
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey (off plan ingredient)
1 tablespoon peeled grated gingerroot
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg Recipe
In a 2 quart saucepan, combine the pears, lemon juice, honey, ginger, viengar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Cook over low heat for 30-40 minutes or until the pears are very tender. In a food processor or blender, process themixture until chunky. If the mixture is not thick, return it to the saucepan and stir over medium heat until desired thickness is reached. Store in a tightly closed container in the refrigerator. Makes 2 cups.
