    Desserts: Chewy Ginger Snaps

    Recipe Introduction

    Note: this would be recommended for living lean rather then when you are using program to try to lose weight sinced baked goods including the processed flour and splenda have a good chnace to really stall your weight loss.

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup Apple Sauce Unsweetened
    1 cup Splenda
    1/4 cup molasses “See below for Substitution for molasses”
    1 egg White
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    2 cups Oatmeal flour
    1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    2 teaspoon cinnamon
    3 ounces crystallized ginger, chopped coarsely

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine softened butter, sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to wet mixture. Mix well. Chill for 1 hour. Form 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on Pam** greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes. This batch makes 8 servings. “Which rounds off to be 4.5 cookies per serving”

    “Substitution for Molasses”
    * 3/4 cup splenda plus 1 1/4 teaspoons Cream of tartar (increase liquid Called for in recipe by 5 tablespoons)
