Salad: Red Onion Salad

List of Ingredients
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup sugar (or equivalent of splenda pourable)
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 medium green bell pepper, cored and thin sliced
1 medium yellow bell pepper, cored and thin sliced
Recipe
Combine vinegar and sugar in saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes. Combine onion and bell pepper slices in a large bowl. Pour vinegar mixture over beggies and allow to stand at room temp. for 20 minutes. Transfer to refrigeratore and chill for 2 hours. drain excess liquid before serving. (Buny's note: I do not know how the splenda substitution will affect this recipe, but it seemed worth trying out if someone likes onion...)
