List of Ingredients
2 cups low salt chicken broth
1 medium turnip, diced
1 medium carrot, scraped and sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 leek, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups water
2 cups peeled, diced acorn squash
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 jalepeno pepper, seeded and minced
3 cups peeledand chopped broccoli stems
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper Recipe
Note: be sure to add the broccoli last so it will not be overcooked. Bring 1 cup broth of a obil in a large saucepan. Add turnip, carrot, onoin, leek, celery and garlic. Simmer over medium ehat for 5 minutes. Add remaining broth, water, squash, cabbage and jalapeno pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until turnips and carrot are not quite tender, about 20 mintues. Add broccoli and black pepper, and continue to simmer until broccoli is just tender, about 5 minutes.
