Algerian Cooked Carrot Salad

1 pound carrots, peeled and quartered lengthwise
3 cloves garlic, chopped
(original recipe contained 1/8 teaspoon salt )
1/8 teaspoon sugar
Lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Chopped parsley Recipe
In a medium saucepan, combine carrots, garlic, salt, and sugar; cook for 15 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and chill.
Sprinkle with lemon juice, cayenne, and cumin; toss to mix well. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top.
