1/4 cup water, broth (chicken or veg)or red wine
1 large onion, cut in half and thin sliced
5 cups chopped red cabbage
1 large apple, peeled, cored, quartered, sliced
1/2 cup dry red wine
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon black pepper Recipe
Heat the water, broth or wine in a large heavy pot over medium heat. Add the onion. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add more water during this process if needed. Add the cabbage, apple, wine, vinegar, honey and black pepper, and stir . Simmer for 30 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
