Green Beans w/ Garlic & Spice

1 cup no salt added chicken broth, divided
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2 small jalapenos, seeded, minced (optional)
1 teaspoon turmeric
2 teaspoons cumin
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1 pound whole green beans, trimmed
lemon juice for drizzling Recipe
Heat 1/2 cup broth in nonstick pan. Add garlic, jalapenos, turmeric, cumin and cayenne; cook until the garlic turns golden, about 3 minutes. Add the green beans and remaining 1/2 cup broth and stir well. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 5-6 minutes, or until beans are tender. Drizzle with lemon juice and serve. You can add 1 package of frozen pearl onions, thawed, if desired.
