    Recipe Introduction

    This bread starts out in the bread machine. So most of the work is done by machine. A flavorful bread round. Well worth the effort. Great to make sandwiches with.

    List of Ingredients

    Basic Yeast Bread:
    1 cup milk
    1 tsp salt
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
    3 1/4 cup bread flour
    1 Tbsp sugar
    2 tsp yeast

    1 cup (4 oz) cubed shrarp cheddar cheese
    1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
    1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1 egg
    1 TBsp water
    salt (optional)


    Place the milk, salt, egg, butter, flour, sugar and yeast (top of the line) in the bread machine. Program machine for dough cycle.

    Add cheese, bell pepper and onion after end of first kneading cycle. Grease a baking sheet or pizza pan and set aside. Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface. Cover with a clean towel and let rise 5 minutes. Shape ball into a ball. Place on prepared baking sheet. Flatten dough to about two inches thick. Cover with towel and let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. Beat egg with one Tbsp water in small bowl. Lightly brush top and side with egg mixture. Sprinkle with salt if desired.
    Preheat oven to 375F..Bake 30 minutes until golden brown. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
