    2 (3-oz ea) packages cream cheese
    1 egg
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 (6-oz) package semisweet chocolate pieces
    1 1/2 cups sifted flour
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup baking cocoa
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 cup water
    1/3 cup cooking oil
    1 Tbsp vinegar
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 Tbsp sugar
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    Recipe



    Beat cream cheese in bowl until smooth, using mixer at medium speed. Add egg, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1/8 tsp salt. Beat until blended. Stir in chocolate pieces; set aside.

    Sift together flour, 1 cup sugar, cocoa, baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt into bowl.

    Combine water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla in small bowl; mix well. Add oil mixture to cocoa mixture. Beat with mixer at medium speed until well blended. Spoon batter into paper-lined 2 1/2 inch muffin pan cups, filling one-third full. Top each with a large tablespoonful of cheese mixture.

    Combine 2 Tbsp sugar and walnuts in bowl; mix well. Sprinkle each cupcake with sugar-walnut mixture.

    Bake at 350F for 35 minutes. Remove from pans, cool on racks.
