    Overnight or Freezer Slaw

    Great freshly made or you can freeze it for future use.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 large head green cabbage
    • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp dry mustard
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 tsp pepper
    • 1 tsp celery seed
    • 3 tbl. sugar
    • 1 large white onion


    Instructions


    1. Shred cabbage very fine. Slice onion very thin
    2. Using a large bowl layer cabbage,onion sprinkling with some of the sugar.
    3. Repeat layering until all is used.
    4. In saucepan bring vinegar,pepper,salt,celery seed,dry mustard and sugar to a boil.
      Remove from heat and stir in oil.
    5. Pour over cabbage and onion. Do not stir. Cover and Put in refrigerator for 6-8 hours or overnight.
    6. Stir just before serving.
      Pack any unused in freezer containers and freeze.
      Thaw as needed for next meal.


    Final Comments


    I like to keep some in freezer for that special need.
    This is really nice in summertime for picnic or grill
    meals.
