Dutch Honey Bread

- 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 tsp cloves
- 1/3 tsp nutmeg
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- 1/3 cup honey
Instructions
- Mix all dry ingredients together. Add the buttermilk, egg, and honey; blend well. Pour mixture into an oiled 9x5x3-inch loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees (F) for 50 to 60 minutes.
(For a moist loaf, reduce flour by 1/4 cup and add a little more honey or buttermilk.)
Makes 1 loaf.
