Yellow Cornbread

List of Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 2-1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Heat a well-greased 10-inch ovenproof skillet at 450 degrees (F) for 5 minutes.
- Combine first five ingredients in a large bowl. Stir together egg and next two ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
- Pour batter into the hot skillet. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes, or until golden.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
