    Nectarine-Plum Jam

    • 1 pound nectarines
    • 1 pound plums
    • 1 package powdered pectin
    • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
    • 7 cups sugar


    Instructions


    1. Prepare home canning jars and lids according to manufacturer's directions. Peel and pit nectarines. Pit plums. Coarsely chop both fruits.

    2. Place chopped fruit, pectin and lemon juice in saucepan. Bring mixture to boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Add sugar, stirring to dissolve. Return mixture to rolling boil. Boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Skim foam, if necessary.

    3. Ladle hot jam into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space. Wipe jar rim clean. Place lid on jar with sealing ring touching glass. Screw band down evenly and firmly, just until a point of resistance is met. Process 15 minutes in boiling water canner.

      Makes about six 12-ounce jars.
