    List of Ingredients


    • 1 gallon sliced, unpeeled cucumbers
    • 2 to 3 large onions, sliced
    • .
    • -- Cold Solution --
    • 4 cups sugar
    • 4 cups vinegar
    • 1/2 cup plain (pickling) salt
    • 1 tsp alum
    • 1 tsp celery seed
    • 1 tsp mustard seed
    • 1 tsp turmeric


    Instructions


    1. Pack cucumbers and sliced onions in jar, layering and packing firmly. Pour the cold solution over. Keep in refrigerator; pickles are ready to eat in about a month.
