    Chinese Mustard Dipping Sauce and Glaze

    List of Ingredients


    • -- Dipping Sauce --
    • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
    • 1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
    • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
    • 1 Tbsp finely grated fresh gingerroot
    • 1 medium clove garlic, peeled and forced through a press or finely minced
    • 1/4 tsp hot chili oil
    • .
    • -- Glaze --
    • 2 tsp canola, vegetable or peanut oil


    Instructions


    1. To prepare the dipping sauce: Stir together the mustard, soy sauce, sesame oil, gingerroot, garlic and chili oil. Refrigerate until ready to use.

    2. To prepare the glaze: Make the dipping sauce and stir in 2 teaspoons oil. Use to baste food as it is being grilled.

      This sauce is especially good with chicken, pork or lamb.

      Makes about 3/4 cup.
