Chinese Mustard Dipping Sauce and Glaze

- -- Dipping Sauce --
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp finely grated fresh gingerroot
- 1 medium clove garlic, peeled and forced through a press or finely minced
- 1/4 tsp hot chili oil
- .
- -- Glaze --
- 2 tsp canola, vegetable or peanut oil
Instructions
- To prepare the dipping sauce: Stir together the mustard, soy sauce, sesame oil, gingerroot, garlic and chili oil. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- To prepare the glaze: Make the dipping sauce and stir in 2 teaspoons oil. Use to baste food as it is being grilled.
This sauce is especially good with chicken, pork or lamb.
Makes about 3/4 cup.
