Butterscotch Icebox Cookies

List of Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- In a large bowl, blend together butter and brown sugar until light. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Stir in vanilla. Add dry ingredients and nuts; mix well.
- Form into two logs; wrap in wax paper, then in aluminum foil. Refrigerate overnight.
- Slice dough ¼-inch thick; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° F for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen.
