Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 stick margarine, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).
- In large mixing bowl, beat together sugar and margarine until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla and blend thoroughly. In small bowl, stir together flour, cocoa and baking soda; add to butter mixture, blending well. Stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 7 to 9 minutes, or until cookies begin to set. (Be careful not to overbake.) Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
