List of Ingredients
- 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 cup sugar, plus more for rolling
- 1/4 cup unsulphured molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Mix the cooled butter with the 1 cup sugar, molasses and egg. Mix well.
- Sift together the remaining ingredients. Stir into the sugar mixture. Cover the dough and chill several hours.
- Roll into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in more granulated sugar. Bake at 375° F for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and cool on wire racks.
