- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1¼ cups sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 (18-ounce) jar grape jelly
- ½ cup sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, 1¼ cups sugar, and brown sugar. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, beating well. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed until blended. Cover, and chill for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in ½ cup sugar and place on greased baking sheets. Make an indentation in center of each ball of dough with thumbs or wooden-spoon handle.
- Bake for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven. Press down indentation again and fill center of cookie with 1 teaspoon jelly. Bake for 4 minutes more. Cool on wire racks.
Makes about 6 dozen.
