Russian Butter Cookies

List of Ingredients



• 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
  
• 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar (plus extra to roll cookies in)
  
• 2-1/4 cups sifted flour
  
• 1 tsp vanilla
  
• 1 tsp salt
  
• 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  






Instructions



1. Mix well the butter, 1/2 cup sugar, flour, vanilla, salt and walnuts.
   
   
2. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheets. Chill for several hours.
   
   
3. Bake at 400 degrees (F) for 10 to 12 minutes. Roll at once in confectioners' sugar. Cool, then roll again in confectioners' sugar.
   
   Yield: 4 dozen
