Beef Burgundy

- 1 (2-lb.) beef round steak, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 cup burgundy
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 (3-oz.) can whole mushrooms, drained
- 3 Tbsp snipped parsley
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- Hot cooked noodles
Instructions
- Coat beef with mixture of flour and salt (use all of the flour). In skillet, melt butter or margarine; brown meat on all sides.
- Transfer meat to crockpot. Combine burgundy, beef broth, onion, mushrooms, parsley, bay leaves, garlic, and pepper. Stir into meat. Cover; cook on HIGH heat setting for 3 hours. (Meat may be kept warm another hour by turning to LOW setting.)
- Remove bay leaves; discard. Serve beef over hot cooked noodles. If desired, sprinkle with paprika and garnish with parsley.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
