Sauce: Cream Caramel Sauce

- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a double boiler over boiling water and medium-high heat, combine sugar and corn syrup and cook, stirring, for 10 minutes. Add cream, lower heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.
- Add salt, butter and vanilla and cook, stirring, until butter is melted. Serve warm or cold. Store any leftover sauce in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Makes about 1-1/2 cups.
