    Three-Berry Compote

    From "Gale Gand's Brunch!" by Gale Gand

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and roll cut
    • 1 pint blueberries
    • 1 pint raspberries
    • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
    • ½ teaspoon grated orange zest
    • â…› teaspoon pure vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, brown sugar, orange zest, and 2 tablespoons water.

    2. Bring to a boil, then immediately turn off the heat. Let cool slightly, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
      Serve warm or chilled. (The compote will keep for up to 5 days, covered, in the refrigerator.)

      Serves 4 to 6
