Christmas: Luxurious Garlicky Scalloped Potatoes
Source of Recipe
From "An Old-Fashioned Christmas" by Ellen Stimson
Recipe Introduction
"Rich, buttery, and lush. The word 'luxurious' is not enough on its own to do this gratin justice. It is special enough to serve on Christmas eve... the biggest night of the year. The person has not yet been born who won't enjoy these potatoes. Even the rice people will cross over when you put this on their plates. You can make them ahead and reheat them for your dinner party. They are great the next day, too."
List of Ingredients
◦  2½ pounds red potatoes
◦  1½ cups half-and-half
◦  3 cups heavy cream
◦  ¾ ounce minced fresh garlic
◦  ½ tsp salt
◦  ½ tsp ground white pepper
◦  Butter for casserole dish
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 400° F.
