    Cinco de Mayo: Watermelon Agua Fresca

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup finely chopped seedless watermelon
    • 7 cups coarsely chopped seedless watermelon
    • 2 cups or more water
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 1 large lime, juiced
    • 8 to 12 ice cubes


    Instructions


    1. Set finely chopped watermelon aside. Place coarsely chopped watermelon in the container of a blender, and process until smooth.

    2. Pour puréed watermelon into a large glass pitcher. Add 2 cups water and sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add lime juice and reserved watermelon.

    3. Just before serving, add 8 to 12 ice cubes. Stir well.

      Makes approximately 2½ quarts.
