    Labor Day: Brat and Bean Casserole

    From "The Deen Bros. Cookbook" by Jamie and Bobby Deen

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 Tbsp olive oil
    • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 pound bratwurst, cut into fat slices
    • 2 (16-ounce) cans baked beans
    • ½ cup bread crumbs


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 400° F.

    2. In a 4-quart ovenproof pot or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion; sauté for 7 to 10 minutes, or until golden. Add bratwurst; sauté for 5 to 7 minutes, or until brown.

    3. Add baked beans and bring to a simmer. Top with the bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered, about 40 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

      Makes 4 to 6 servings.
