Thanksgiving: Cran-Apple Orange Conserve

- 2 medium oranges
- 5 large tart apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- 2 cups sugar
- 1-1/2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 Tbsp grated fresh lemon peel

Instructions
- Remove a thin slice from both ends of both oranges for easier chopping. Finely chop unpeeled oranges to make 2 cups; remove any seeds. Combine oranges, apples, sugar, cranberries and lemon peel in slow cooker. Cover; cook on HIGH 4 hours. Slightly crush fruit with potato masher.
- Cook, uncovered on LOW 4 hours or until very thick, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Cool at least 2 hours. Serve with pound cake.
Makes about 5 cups.
Final Comments
Fruit conserve can also be served with roast pork or poultry.
