Ham Steaks with Irish Whiskey Sauce

- 4 ham steaks
- 2 tsp finely chopped onions
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp Irish whiskey
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- 3/4 cup water or stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brush ham steaks with melted butter. Snip fat to prevent curling, and grill for 7 to 8 minutes on each side.
- Saute onions in remainder of butter until cooked. Remove from heat and stir in flour gradually. Add water or stock. Return to heat. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer gently for about 2 minutes to cook flour. If sauce seems a little thick, add more water or stock. Add whiskey and season to taste.
Place ham steaks on a serving platter and pour the sauce over.
