Bow Ties with Palamino Sauce

List of Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 banana pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1-1/4 cups spaghetti sauce
- 16 ounces bow-tie pasta
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup sliced fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- In a nonstick, 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, pepper and garlic, and cook until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in flour; cook 1 minute. Stir in milk, heavy cream, and salt; heat to boiling over medium-high heat. Stir in spaghetti sauce and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, heat a large saucepot of salted water to boiling over high heat. Add pasta and cook according to package directions.
- Drain pasta well; return to saucepot. Add sauce, Parmesan and basil; toss well to coat pasta.
Makes 8 servings.
