List of Ingredients
- 3/4 lb. spaghetti, broken in half
- 2 large cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 (28-ounce) can tomatoes, undrained
- 1 Tbsp dried basil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta in large pan of boiling salted water just until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well.
- Meanwhile, chop garlic in a food processor. Add tomatoes and their liquid, basil, sugar, Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper. Puree.
- Layer half of the spaghetti in a baking dish, 8 x 8 x 2-1/2 inches high. (You'll need a dish this high to hold all of the ingredients.) Pour half of the sauce over the pasta, then sprinkle with half of the Cheddar and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Repeat once more in same order.
- Bake in a preheated 400-degree oven for 30 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese begins to brown around the edges. Let cool for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
Makes 6 servings.
