- 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/4 lb. butter, softened
- 1 Tbsp dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup flour
- 1 Tbsp water, if needed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Place the cheese and butter in a mixing bowl and mix until soft and fluffy. Add the mustard and pepper, and mix well. Add the flours and mix slowly to incorporate; use a bit of water to form the dough. Divide into 2 pieces and roll like a tube; refrigerate, covered with plastic wrap, on a sheet pan (ungreased).
- Remove the plastic wrap and slice the dough about 1/4-inch thick. Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool and serve.
