Sweet and Salty Nut Mix

Recipe Introduction
"If you, too, find mixed nuts kind of boring, this recipe is for you. It's the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy thanks to the combination of maple syrup, crushed red pepper flakes, and just the right amount of salt. While this works particularly well with walnuts, cashews, and pecans, this recipe is ideal for using up any nuts you have on hand, like hazelnuts, pistachios, almonds, peanuts, or macadamia nuts. Just make sure they're roughly the same size (sorry, no slivered almonds here!) or you'll run the risk of burning some."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
â—¦ 2 tablespoons olive oil
â—¦ 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
â—¦ 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
â—¦ 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
â—¦ 1 teaspoon paprika
â—¦ ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
â—¦ 1 cup raw walnuts
â—¦ 1 cup raw pecans
â—¦ 1 cup raw cashews
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, add the brown sugar, olive oil, maple syrup, salt, red pepper flakes, paprika, and cayenne, and whisk to combine. Add the walnuts, pecans, and cashews, and stir until fully coated.
Spread the nut mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and transfer to the oven. Bake until the nuts are fragrant and toasted, about 20 minutes. Let the nuts cool to room temperature, then transfer to a sealed container. The nuts can be stored in a cool place for up to 1 week.
