Candied Pecan Bacon

Recipe Introduction
"These sumptuous, addictive bacon strips disappear faster than toasted pecans at cocktail parties and attest to Southerners' unique penchant for sweet goodies to nibble with their liquor. I think it's pointless to make these appetizers unless you use either a premium artisanal bacon or a reputable commercial one with at least enough lean meat to equal the amount of fat. Furthermore, the pieces should be baked till they're crisp but still slightly chewy. And if you want to add a little zing to the bacon, shake a few drops of Tabasco sauce into the sugar mixture."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ ½ cup packed dark brown sugar
â—¦ 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
â—¦ ½ cup finely chopped pecans
â—¦ 1 pound lean sliced bacon
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
On a plate, combine the sugar, flour, and pecans and mix till well blended.
Lightly dredge the bacon slices in the mixture, arrange the slices close together on a broiler pan, and bake till browned and almost but not quite crisp, about 30 minutes. Drain on paper towels, break each slice in half, and serve at room temperature with cocktails.
Makes at least 8 servings
