Recipe Introduction
"I'm from the school of thought that says cheese makes everything better, including grits. Serve them on their own or topped with shrimp."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 2 cups chicken broth
â—¦ 2 cups 2 percent milk
â—¦ ¾ cup butter, cubed
â—¦ 1 teaspoon salt
â—¦ 1 teaspoon black pepper
â—¦ 1 cup uncooked old-fashioned grits
â—¦ 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
Recipe
In a large saucepan, bring chicken broth, milk, butter, salt, and pepper to a boil. Slowly stir in grits and reduce heat to medium-low.
Cover and allow to cook for 12 to 13 minutes (or until thickened). Be sure to stir occasionally.
Stir in cheese and keep warm. Top with additional cheese if desired.
