    I've had this recipe for so long that I don't remember where it came from. This unique cake makes its' own hot fudge sauce as it cooks. Turn your oven light on, sit down and enjoy the show as it bakes-that way you will know how that sauce gets on the bottom. Make the recipe just like it says--it will make sense in the end!


    List of Ingredients


    • Ice cream, to serve
    • 1 cup all purpose flour
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 Tablespoons Cocoa
    • 2 teaspoonsbaking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup chopped mixed nuts, if desired
    • 1 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup cocoa
    • 1 3/4 cups very hot water


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, the baking powder and salt in ungreased square, 9x9 pan.Mix in milk,oil and vanilla with fork till smooth.Stir in nuts.Spread evenly in pan.Mix together brown sugar and remaining cocoa.sprinkle evenly over batter in pan.Pour hot water over batter.(Yes, I did say to pour the water on top, just trust me!) Bake about 40 minutes.Let stand 15 minutes.Spoon into serving dishes and serve with ice cream.Enjoy!!
