"From member kkey22850: Enjoy. This replaces the Taco Seasoning Packets from Ortega, etc. This is my modification from an old Make A Mix Cookbook I�ve been using for more years than I want to admit to. "


List of Ingredients




� 2 tsp onion powder
� 1 tsp Chef Paul�s Magic Salt Free Seasoning
� 1 tsp chili powder (adjust to the desired heat)
� � tsp crushed dried red pepper (adjust to the desired heat)
� � tsp instant garlic powder
� � tsp dried oregano
� � tsp ground cumin
� � tsp turmeric

Recipe



Combine all the spices. Use as you would those taco packets from the supermarket.
This will spice 1 lb. ground meat.

I usually brown the meat and 1 chopped onion. Add the spice mix and � c water.

On KP duty last weekend I cooked up a big batch, divided it into appropriate 1-serving size and froze it. Will use over shredded lettuce with chopped tomato and chopped onion as a taco salad. I tried this for my morning snack and it was tasty but some fresh salsa would have enhanced the .?experience
