    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1/2 stick butter
    1/4 c. crisco
    2 T. cocoa
    1/2 c water
    1/2 t. soda
    1/2 t. vanilla
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    1 egg

    Frosting:
    1/2 stick butter
    3 T. milk
    2 T. cocoa
    powdered sugar
    1/2 t. vanilla
    nuts

    Recipe



    Heat to boiling butter, crisco, cocoa, and water. Boil rapidly and pour over flour and sugar. Mix well. Add soda, vanilla, buttermilk and egg. Mix well. Pour into 9x13 pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 400.

    Frosting:
    Bring butter, milk and cocoa to a boil. Add sugar, vanilla and nuts. Pour over cake while still hot.
