1 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
1/4 t. cream of tartar
1 t. vanillaRecipe
Mix sugar and water. Boil without stirring until mixture spines an 8 in. thread. (keep pan covered first 3 minutes). Pour hot syrup into 2 stiffly beaten egg whites (with cream of tartar added when whites are frothy). Beat constantly with rotary beater. Add vanilla and continue beating until mixture is fluffy and will hold shape.
