Buttermilk Scones

List of Ingredients
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup white sugar
Cut in:
1/3 cup shortening or margerine
Add:
1/3-1//2 cup raisins, washed and soaked in hot water, drained
1 cup buttermilkRecipe
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix as given directions above to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a floured surface. Knead gently 8-10 times. Roll to desired thickness. Spread an egg yolk over top. Cut across to make diamond or rectangular shaped scones. Lift with a spatula. Place in pan (one inch or so apart) Bake in hot oven 10-12 minutes, depending on size of scones.
