    14 oz. canned, sliced pears, drained, reserve juice
    1/2 cup reserved pear juice
    1/2 tsp lemon juice, fresh or bottled
    1/16 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tbsp. granulated sugar
    1 tbsp. cornstarch

    Toppping:
    1/2 cup flour
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp salt
    2 tbsp. hard margarine
    2 1/2 tbsp. water or milk
    granulated sugar, sprinkle

    Place pear slices in an ungreased 1 1/2 quart casserole.

    Stir next 5 ingredients together in am small bowl. Pour over pears. Heat in 425 degree oven, while prepping the topping.

    Topping: Measure first 4 ingredeints in bowl Cut in butter until crumbly. Add water. Mix in well. Press dough into circle to fit top of casserole. Place over pear mixture. Cut slits in top. Sprinkle with sugar. Return to oven. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
