    1 cup finely chopped onion
    2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

    1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef

    1/4 cup all purpose flour
    1 tsp.salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 cups milk

    10 oz. canned sliced mushrooms, drained
    10 oz. frozen peas, thawed (2 1/4 cups)

    Place onion and macaroni in 3 1/2 quart slow cooker.

    Scramble fry ground beef in non stick frying pan until no longer pink. Drain. Add to slow cooker.

    Stir flour, salt and pepper together in small saucepan. Whisk in milk gradually until no lumps remain. Heat, stirring constantly, until boiling and thickened. Pour over ground beef in slow cooker. Stir.

    Sprinkle mushrooms and peas over top. Cover. Cook on Low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1 1/2 -2 hours. Makes 8 1/2 cups.
