Recipe Introduction
Mouth-watering sandwiches with the right amount of spices
List of Ingredients
6 French Rolls, toasted & split
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
1 1/4 Ounces Onion Soup, dry mix
2 Large Onions, sweet & sliced
1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
1 Cup Swiss Cheese, shredded
2-3 Pounds Top Round Roast
2 Cups WaterRecipe
Line the bottom of a 2-quart baking dish with 1 of the onions, water, soy sauce, garlic, and dry soup mix. Lay the beef on top, with the fat side down. Place the remaining onion on top of the meat. Bake in a preheated oven of 325 degrees F for 3 to 4 minutes or until the meat is tenderized. Remove the meat from the baking dish and let it stand for 15 minutes. Strain the juices and set aside. Slice the meat across the grain into very thin slices. Place the sliced meat and the juices in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat until heated through. Lay the hot beef on the French rolls, keeping them open-faced. Sprinkle the top of each with the cheese and broil until the cheese is melted, keeping a close eye on them. Close the sandwiches and serve with the hot au jus (pan juices). Serves 6.
