This is one recipe with out honey.
List of Ingredients
8-10 beets
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tbsp cornstach
1/4 tsp. slat
dash of pepper
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tbsp. butter
Recipe
Cook beets until tender. Peel. Mix together the sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Add water and vinegar. Mix until smooth. Cook until thickened. Add beets and let stand 30 minutes where they will keep hot. Just before serving, add the butter.
