TAFFY APPLE CAKE

1 1/2 cups softened butter
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
6 eggs
3 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground allspice
16 diced carmels
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped apples, peeled and cored
Recipe
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a bundt pan. Unwrap carmels and cut each into 8 pieces. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, powdered sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one.
Gradually add flour, cinnamon and allspice to the egg mixture. Blend at low speed until thoroughly combined. Stir in by hand the carmels and apples. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 85 to 90 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes and then invert onto a serving platter. Serve cake warm or cold.
This cake can also be baked in a 9x13" baking pan for 75 to 80 minutes.
