    GRANDMA MULLIN’S THANKSGIVING STUFFING

    Source of Recipe

    Grandma Mullin

    List of Ingredients

1 ½ cups celery, chopped fine
    ¼ cup butter or margarine
    ¼ tsp. salt
    ¼ tsp. pepper
    ½ tsp. ground sage
    ½ cup milk
    3 tbsps. chopped onion
4 cups dry bread cubes, about 7 slices
    ½ tsp. poultry seasoning
    ½ tsp. parsley
    2 – 4 tsps. chicken broth

    Recipe

Take day old bread, leave out overnight to get a little hard and cut up in squares. Next day put in a bowl with milk and let the bread absorb the milk. Squeeze out the excess liquid. Cook celery and onion in butter until tender. Add seasonings. Add cooled butter mixture. Mix by hand and stuff turkey. Some people add an egg to make the mixture more solid. Grandma did not. You could also cook the giblets until tender in lightly salted water. Drain and chop giblets. Add giblets or just the giblet water for a different taste.
