    POLISH DUMPLINGS

    Source of Recipe

    Mom

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup potatoes
    ½ tsp. salt
    ½ tsp. pepper
    1 egg
    1 cup cold water
    4 – 5 cups flour
    margarine
    2 chicken bouillon

    Recipe

Boil and mash potatoes to measure 1 cup; add salt and pepper. Cool.

In a large pot boil about 6 – 8 cups water with 2 chicken bouillon. Reduce heat to a low boil.

Add egg to potatoes with 1 cup cold water. Slowly add 1 cup of flour at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Make one dumpling and put in boiling water. Don’t let it stick to the bottom. Leave boiling until it floats to the top and then 1 minute more. Roll dumpling in butter and taste. If too mooshy, add more flour. If too tough, add a little water. Make the rest of the dumplings and boil. Don’t crowd the pot. Stir constantly until dumplings float to top of pot and boil 1 minute more. Drain and add margarine.
