    Bacon-topped French Bread

    Source of Recipe

    Quick cooking

    Recipe Introduction

Try this with the Comforting Chicken dish! Amazingly good!

You can also use swiss cheese slices instead of shredded, but the shredded works better.

And make sure that you use foil underneath the bread!

    List of Ingredients

One large loaf French Bread (can also use the precut ones)
    1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
    2 tablespoons regular prepared mustard
    1/4 cup chopped chives, optional
8 oz shredded swiss cheese (will probably have some left over)
    3 slices of bacon, halved

    Recipe

Place heavy duty foil on baking pan/cookie sheet. Spray lightly with non-stick spray. Place the bread on top. Cut in 1" slices, not going all the way through at the bottom. Melt butter and add mustard, mix well. Add chopped chives. Spread this between each slice using a pastry brush. Spread any remaining butter mixture on top of bread. Put swiss cheese in between each slice, making sure to place it evenly across. Place bacon on top diagonally. Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, for approx 20 min or until bacon is done.
